The Mumbai Indians put together another victory, producing a professional performance to see off a determined Deccan side.   

The difference was probably the Mumbai bowling, which started effectively and kept the pressure on, even without the injured Shaun Pollock.   He should return for the next game in place of Dwayne Bravo, who leaves for the West Indies, although Mumbai have called up Andre Nel as an extra player.

Mumbai Indians were asked to bat by Deccan Chargers and proceeded to post a competitive total...

Man-in-form Jayasuriya threatened to take the game away from the Chargers with a brutal early assault.  He hit every single one of his 36 runs in the arc between mid wicket and fine leg, but perished in the same region in the third over. 

Spinner Rao had been brought on - a big gamble – and, after smashing two boundaries along the ground past fine leg, the Sri Lankan lofted the next ball to be caught on the boundary...
