Ashes Schedule Announced 

Yes, we know it’s a bit early to be getting excited about the Ashes already, but the very first flicker of anticipation coursed through our veins here at Slog6, as we received the details of the schedule for the Aussie’s 2009 tour to the UK.

It’s a late summer test series again and starts at Cardiff - which will be a first, and a major feather in the cap of the local organisers.  It will also offset England’s tendency to get stuffed at Lord’s every time, although the 20/20 competition taking place during June should mean that there’s no chance of the Australian team being undercooked – they arrive at least 6 weeks before the first test.

5 Tests are followed by 7 ODI games, finishing on 20th Sept (or possibly considerably earlier in near-zero temperatures and lashing rain).
